If the leader were the King, the value of this unspoken rule would soar indefinitely.
Veronica frowned as she listened, disdainfully remarking, "You’re putting on a show, and the Queen knows you’re putting on a show. She isn’t a fool, there’s no reason she would be fooled by you."
"Attitude is very important. If you refuse to stoop to their level and don’t get along well with your colleagues, you won’t give the leader a handle, and you won’t get focused attention."
Wayne leaned against the sofa, stating the facts and reasoning, "Just like I’m not a pervert, but no matter where I go, I always bring a secretary. This time, I even brought three, all to imply to the Secretary Officer to inform the Queen that Sir Wayne has weaknesses and desires, easy to manipulate."
"Oh, right. Today, while in the car, I also flirted with the Secretary Officer, saying she’s exactly my type."
What a hardship for you!
The points of criticism were so numerous Veronica nearly choked and was speechless for a long while before finally saying, "So, Mister Lando always keeps Megan by his side for the same reason?"
"No, he really is having an affair with Megan."
Wayne lowered his voice, beckoning Veronica with a crooked finger until she leaned in, then whispered, "I’ve asked, Austin’s not pretending. He really did roll in the sheets with Megan, more than once. You should just know about this; please don’t tell anyone, I promised him I wouldn’t leak it."
"This is outrageous!"
Veronica clenched her teeth in rage, secretly vowing to tell her mother once she got back.
The next second, she looked suspicious and muttered, "Why would Mister Lando tell you such a thing? You’re not his leader. Are you lying to me?"
"Hilarious, you think I need to tarnish Austin’s reputation? His bad rep doesn’t need my help. Me saying a couple of bad things about him is actually whitewashing him."
Wayne snorted with laughter, then cast a contemptuous glance at Veronica, "He told me all of this simply because he’s jealous I’m too upright, not dirty enough, and he advised me to be more like him, bringing a secretary everywhere I go."
Veronica was somewhat convinced, mentally punching Austin hard. Damn social trash, had he considered her feelings at all when he did that?
Truly detestable, what kind of lesson is this!
"Besides, Austin said it’s for your own good." Wayne spoke somberly.
Veronica was baffled, wondering how it was for her good. She didn’t feel good at all.
"As the heir of the Lando Family, I will inevitably be surrounded by beauties throwing themselves at me. For instance, Miss Mary Ann earlier, her goal wasn’t only to bribe."
Wayne lured Veronica with half-truths and deceptions, "Bribery could only solve the Snow Family’s immediate difficulties. What then, without the protection of the Magic Department, how can the Snow Family continue to throw their weight around?"
Veronica dumbly said, "Depend on Sir Wayne, you’re the heir of the Tulip Family. If Mary Ann becomes your lover, the Snow Family will have a new pillar to rely on in Lundan."
"Exactly, that’s right."
Wayne snapped his fingers, suddenly stood up, and placed his hands on Veronica’s shoulders, "Austin is wrong, you are smart. With just a little guidance, you could blend into this filthy circle."
Veronica turned her head to look away, pleased to be recognized, but she really didn’t want to blend into that circle.
"Continue, now onto the second question."
Wayne pointed at Willy, "If she were the Little Fairy trying to seduce me and you were not present, how should I extricate myself?"
Veronica looked around in confusion until Mona caught her eye.
Wayne reached out and drew Mona into his embrace, who cooperatively leaned on his shoulder, "I always carry a secretary with me. Even if a Little Fairy came knocking, I would have a secretary step up and turn her away, just like the three secretaries did with Mary Ann earlier."
Combining theory with reality, Veronica couldn’t find a reason to argue, but still...
"You bastard, how long do you plan on holding her?"
