He must learn the harsh realities and survival principles to endure. Through his experiences, Zhang Xiao Qiang sheds his former laziness, his character transforming into one of resilience and growing power. He witnesses the ruthless actions of others who trample on all in their path. Despite the bleakness, Zhang Xiao Qiang retains a core sense of conscience, never aspiring to heroism but willing to share his meager resources. He continues to exist in the marginalized spaces of this new world, his presence in these "cracks" pushing the limits of what they can contain.
