"Reverend Insanity" follows a time traveler destined to experience endless rebirths in this unique world. This setting is defined by its intricate system of Gu cultivation and usage, featuring a host of fascinating and powerful insectoid spirits such as the Spring and Autumn Cicada, Venomous Moonlight Gu, Wine Insect, All-Encompassing Golden Light Insect, Slender Black Hair Gu, and the Gu of Hope. At the heart of this narrative is a great demon who lives by his own will, unbound by convention. The concept of Gu draws from South Chinese traditions, where it signifies poison and folklore describes Gu spirits capable of transforming into diverse forms.
