Assistant Architect

"Assistant Architect" by Xi And Qing tells the story of Zhang Siyi, an architecture graduate student returning from abroad and seeking employment. During a tense encounter in a cafe, his ex-girlfriend attempts to throw coffee at him, but he narrowly avoids it, with the beverage instead drenching a nearby handsome man. The following day, Zhang Siyi's job interview takes a surprising turn when he discovers the interviewer is the same man. Believing the position now impossible, Zhang Siyi is taken aback when the handsome interviewer, setting aside the coffee incident, hires him anyway. To Zhang Siyi's further astonishment, the man becomes his direct superior. Overwhelmed by this unexpected generosity, Zhang Siyi is moved to tears. However, he is unaware that this seemingly fortunate turn of events marks the beginning of his true misfortunes.
