Banished to Another World

Banished to Another World, by Yi Ren Bei, tells the story of Yan Mo, a "scum Medicine God" whose soul is thrust into a savage, primitive world. Upon awakening, Yan Mo discovers he has been knocked unconscious and brought back as a winter food supply by a hyper-Spartan tribe. This tribe values only one thing: fighting strength, and they are deeply suspicious of anything that deviates from this singular focus. Yan Mo's skills in medicine are met with hostility; they are seen as a ploy to harm their warriors. Agricultural pursuits like growing wheat or raising livestock are dismissed as the work of slaves. Even teaching women to make clothes or cook is perceived as an attempt to seduce them. When Yan Mo, claiming to be a messenger of God guiding them to a better life, is challenged to subdue all their enemies within a day, he faces impossible demands. This harsh reality leaves Yan Mo speechless.
