After losing his job, Lu Qingjiu returns to his hometown to farm. His initial venture into raising a pig quickly reveals an extraordinary intellect in the animal, capable of solving complex math problems beyond Lu Qingjiu's own abilities. This unusual discovery is followed by raising chickens, whose surprising combat prowess proves ten times greater than Lu Qingjiu's. These experiences lead Lu Qingjiu to suspect his ancestral home is not as ordinary as it seems. Compounding his unease is Bai Yuehu, a constant presence who observes him intensely. A humorous exchange highlights the mystery: Lu Qingjiu questions if Bai Yuehu's gaze is due to his food or himself. Bai Yuehu, pointing to the food, reluctantly releases his grip on Lu Qingjiu's arm, a reluctant concession suggesting a deeper, unrevealed connection or intent.
