Golden Age Legitimate Fei

"Golden Age Legitimate Fei" by Feng Qing tells the story of a marriage arranged by imperial decree. The bride, a noble daughter, is dismissed by society for her lack of talent, beauty, and virtue. Her groom, a prince, is known as a "trash wangye," afflicted by disfigurement, disability, and severe illness. The world considers them a perfect match. Beneath her bridal veil, the bride wears a gentle smile, her demeanor calm and serene. Having faced life and death, her sole desire is a peaceful existence. As they enter the wedding hall, the prince smiles faintly, his heart as cold as ice. He has endured immense humiliation, but vows one day to rise above all. The bride declares her devotion: "He is my husband. To bully him is to bully me. To insult him is to insult me. To hurt him is to hurt me. If someone were to hurt me, I would have to get rid of them!" The prince echoes her fierce loyalty, stating, "Benwang doesn’t believe in supernatural beings and doesn’t seek heaven. If she were to die, benwang would turn this entire world into purgatory and sacrifice this whole country to her!"
