Vrax, a man who should be dead, finds himself alive and exploring the dangerous Forsaken Lands at level zero. A picky individual, he awaits the System's granting of a perfect class. Until then, he must rely on his wits and speed to evade the creatures that drive sane adventurers away. Vrax's actions will include a prank gone awry that unleashes man-eating daisies, awakening or creating unimaginable horrors, and likely disappointing his father. He will also cause a town to develop an irrational fear of dandelions. His progression will be steady, moving from level zero to becoming a threat to the church, charting a middle ground between the speed of a mage tank and the slower pace of a runesmith. The protagonist possesses a unique ability to craft and mutate monsters, transforming them into deadly abominations. Explorer Erni-von Hillbach's journal describes the Forsaken Lands, a wilderness with no agreed-upon name, referred to variously as the Nightmare Wood, Elysium's Ruins, or Godsbane. This border region of bogs and dense forests is characterized by its inhospitable terrain and its monstrous inhabitants. Unlike other high-mana areas where dangers are localized, the entirety of the Forsaken Lands is a constant, seemingly random deathtrap.
