Saving Nora

Nora Smith endures public humiliation when her fiancé cruelly ends their engagement, citing her appearance with insults about her "gigantic face and thunder thighs." Dismissing him as an "idiot," Nora secretly embarks on a transformation. She returns to town dramatically slimmer and undeniably beautiful. Her former fiancé, desperate, pleads for her return, offering to do anything. Nora, however, coolly rejects him, stating that "real men don't dwell on the past." Enraged, he attempts to insult her, calling her a "dimwit saddled with baggage" and claiming no one else will want her. This proves untrue as Nora gains the admiration of a popular singer who declares her his "goddess." An esteemed surgeon requests a date, and a feared, influential businessman openly claims her as his wife and mother of his children.
